Robert Hillard

Robert “Jake” Hillard, 94 of Lambertville, MI, and formerly of Beaver, PA, died Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living.  Born June 25, 1923, in Parkersburg, WV, he was the son of Charles and Mary (Grimm) Hillard.  A 1943 graduate of Parkersburg High School, he married Vada V. Burkhart on October 25, 1947.  She preceded him in death on July 27, 2005.  Jake was employed in Materials Procurement  for Westinghouse, retiring in 1986 after 43 years of service. He was a life member of the Union Lodge, #259, F.& A.M.  He was an avid Pittsburg sports fan  and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Jake is survived by his loving daughter, Karen (Terry) Riegle; grandchildren, Jennifer Riegle, Gary “Ed” (Laura) Hillard, Jr. and Tracie Hillard; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Maliah; daughter-in-law, Diana Hillard and sister-in-law, Roberta Davis.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary Hillard; brother, Charles “Pete” Hillard; sisters, Virginia “Dotty” Maul and Mary Lou Mitchell.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 16, 2018, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 23rd St & Park Ave, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
